The Sharp Kitchen

Affiliate Disclosure

The short version

The Sharp Kitchen is reader-supported. Some of the links we use to point you toward a product are affiliate links, which means we may earn a small commission if you buy through them — at no extra cost to you. That commission is how we keep the guides free to read.

What an affiliate link is

When we recommend a knife, a sharpener or a cutting board, we usually add a “Check price on Amazon” link so you can see it for yourself. Where a retailer runs an affiliate program, that outbound link may be tagged so the retailer knows you came from us. If you go on to buy, the retailer pays us a small percentage. You pay exactly the same price you would have paid anyway.

What it does not change

It does not change which products we recommend, the order we rank them in, or what we say about them. We choose and rank products on the merits — steel, edge geometry, balance, build quality, value, and the weight of reputable published reviews — never on which retailer pays the most. If a product is the honest pick, it earns the top spot whether or not there’s a commission attached. You can read exactly how we make those calls in How we choose.

Where we are today

We’re a young site, and we’re building our retailer relationships as we grow. Some outbound links may not yet earn us anything at all. When that changes, this page changes with it — we’ll always tell you plainly when a link can earn us a commission.
